The Universal Music Group has announced a deal with Bernie to create F1 ROCKS, "a pioneering and electrifying new global entertainment platform". So I guess that means more post-race concerts. This is good news.
They're keeping tight-lipped for now about which acts we can expect to see soon, but Universal say the digital broadcasts of these concerts will be global.
This weekend, unrelated to the Universal deal, The Who are playing at Albert Park. Last year Melbourne hosted Kiss after the GP which was a great success. And all of us who were there remember the Bastille Day concert of Roger Water's The Dark Side of the Moon at Magny Cours in 2007. That was the PR coup of the year.
