The news that Timo Glock had signed for Manor was a surprise to me. The German had been in protracted talks with Renault and, with the French team being a more known quantity for 2010, it seems strange he would go with the new comers.
Timo is good and had options. With Jenson Button now destined for McLaren, given the news that Kimi Raikkonen's negotiations with them have broken down, he would also have a strong case at Brawn - by far his best option. Mercedes would like him, and he could be fare well alongside Nico Rosberg.
Why Manor? Why not Renault or Brawn?
It's a bit worrying that Renault still haven't announced their second driver. What are the options? Heikki Kovalainen doesn't look as good a choice as Glock. Franck Montagny is underrated and I'd love to see him back, but are Renault's bosses that sentimental? Are they going to keep Grosjean?
What about Nick Heidfeld? Rumours are that the spare Brawn-Mercedes is his...
There is also a wild rumour that Mercedes have pushed Jenson Button out to make way for HIM. Michael Schumacher.
